Zoe Seymore
graduated from The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio in May of 2023. She was born in Guangxi Province, China, and was adopted at the age of 11 months by a single mother and grew up in Texas.
This website is a result of her senior independent study thesis project that she completed for her graduation requirements. She has always wanted to do her research on adoptees and after working under her professor, Dr. Ziying You, she knew that she wanted to focus on the pandemic's impacts on adoptees' identity and well-being. This motivation was heightened by her own experiences with Asian racism and discrimination growing up.
Zoe plans to go to graduate school and work with adoptees, Asians, and Asian Americans in a therapeutical and clinical setting. She also hopes to partake in more adoptee research in the future, as the current literature is very limited. She is currently part of the Fulbright ETA position for Taiwan for the 2023-2024 academic year, and will attend the University of Michigan School of Social Work in Fall 2024.
She would like to thank numerous individuals for their contributions and support to this finalized project. All acknowledgements can be read down below.
Zoe has also done work in the adoption community, and continues to do so, on her college campus and outside of college as well. For more information and to see her work, you can find the information down below.
